High-speed video analysis of athletics

The analyses below should be seen as an evolving learning experience for me. Don’t take my statements as facts. The fact is that the basic human movement of running is far from fully understood and there is no such thing as one correct running technique. I will probably regret my comments and statements in the early videos. If I had a talent for false modesty I would say “hopefully” instead of “probably” … Oh well, at the very least I look forward to expand my views.
The first set of analyses will be based on simple estimations of basic parameters of the sprint stride like contact time, flight time, stride length, and velocity. These videos feature members of the group I coach and the analyses are done first and foremost for their benefit. Later on, I plan to do more elaborate research as a basis for longer articles. In some cases a segmental analysis will be made. I do not, however, have access to the equipment required for 3D-analysis.
While most videos will be on sprinting and horizontal jumping, I will also film training exercises, lifting, and tests like the vertical jump etc.
10 Feb. 2023: Thanks to the outstanding Ruffle Flash emulation, these videos work again. Actionscript 3 is, however, not yet fully supported, so there might be graphical glithes here and there.
